Temporary Summer Custodian

Stearns Electric Association, a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving over 29,000 members in the Central Minnesota area, is seeking one (1) temporary summer custodian.

The position will help with general office support and ensuring buildings are kept functional, safe and presentable. Custodial tasks may include vacuuming, scrubbing floors, dusting, cleaning rooms and vehicles, assisting with painting and minor repairs, packing and moving items up to 75 pounds and miscellaneous office duties. The role assists with outside grounds and facility maintenance. This position will work from June 3 – August 2025. This position is temporary full-time (average 40 hours/week), non-benefits eligible. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. The position will report to the Melrose and St. Joseph facilities.
Ideal candidates have the following qualifications:

• Custodial skills or experience
• Willing to learn the operation of janitorial, grounds equipment and power tools
• Willingness to accept routine, reoccurring tasks
• Reliable, mechanical, self-motivated and detail orientated
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 75 pounds
• Listening and communication skills, and ability to work independently while taking direction from others
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
