Supervisor Development Certificate Program Registration 2021

2021 classes will be held *in-person at the Chamber office. To maintain safe distancing at class, registrations will be limited to the FIRST 20 applications. A wait list is available for this program!

*If necessary, classes may be moved online via Zoom. Hybrid options will not be available for classes (will either be in-person OR online for all 2021 students.)

This program is designed for the new supervisor, one who has received limited supervisor training, or one who needs to strengthen his or her leadership skills.  Effective supervisors must possess many different qualities such as flexibility, adaptability, strong leadership skills, and commitment to goals.  Supervisors are often seen as teachers, counselors, and mentors. 

Through the Supervisor Development Program at the St. Cloud Area Chamber, we offer you seven courses in seven distinct areas that will give you the necessary tools to become a more effective supervisor.  In order to receive the Supervisor Development certificate, you are required to attend at least six of the seven courses offered.  Five of the courses offered are required, enabling you to choose between two elective courses to complete the series.  Both electives can be selected at an additional cost of $65.

1. Session I: Keeping You and Your Employer Out of Trouble, Speakers: Melinda Gau and Chad Staul, Quinlivan & Hughes - Tuesday, March 2, 7:45 a.m. - noon
2. **Session II: Conflict Management, Speaker: Bruce Miles, Big River Group, LLC - Thursday, March 18, 8-11:15 a.m.    **This class will be held via Zoom for all students
3. Session III: Hiring for Retention, Speakers: Sunny Hesse and Julie Hentges, Metro Bus - Tuesday, March 30, 8-10:30 a.m. 
4. Session IV: Helping Employees Achieve Peak Performance, Speaker: Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce - Tuesday, April 6, 8-10:30 a.m.
5. Session V: Supervising Others - A Team Approach, Speaker: Brian Hart, Stokeswood Enterprises - Tuesday, April 27, 8-11:00 a.m.

1. Session VI: Interpersonal Communication Skills for Managers, Speaker: Tara Gronhovd, Align Strategy, LLC - Thursday, April 15, 8:00 a.m. - noon
2. Session VII: Leadership in the Workplace, Speakers: Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce & Corey Donat, Bayer Built Woodworks - Thursday, May 6, 8 a.m. - noon.
