COMMUNITY EVENT: Conflict Resolution Center Mediation Class
The 30-Hour Facilitative Civil Mediation Training is a comprehensive experiential training course that teaches participants to skillfully facilitate conversations between people in conflict in order to assist them in reaching creative, mutually-satisfactory outcomes. This course is designed for professionals who want to learn to mediate, and meets all requirements of both the Minnesota Supreme Court’s Rule 114 Training Guidelines and the Community Dispute Resolution Program Training Requirements for community mediators in Minnesota. During the training, participants learn the mediation process, and gain the skills to identify the interests and fundamental needs that underlie the positions of people in conflict. Participants also learn to reframe positional or destructive communication into productive communication, and to understand conflict styles, become an active listener, manage impasse, and identify power imbalances.
