"Building the Capacity to Attract and Retain Employees and Customers from Diverse Backgrounds"
For businesses to remain viable as communities evolve and become more diverse, they must enhance their ability to convey the genuine welcome that is central to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce and customer base. Understanding how privilege and oppression play out in unintended ways is essential if we are to create environments where all feel welcome. This workshop will discuss white privilege in a way that sidesteps the blame and defensiveness that too often accompanies such discussions. You will leave with clarity as to what white privilege is, how it shows up and what you can do to promote an environment that serves the entire community.
Nam Provost
As the former Director of Inclusive Excellence at a four-year college, Nam spent much of her time facilitating strategies surrounding systemic change and developing diversity programs. As a trainer and consultant, she has had the opportunity to facilitate many deep and engaging conversations about inclusion, the impact of oppression and how individuals can use the information to make strategic decisions and take action that impacts the institution.

For the past ten years he has been co-authoring and co-facilitating diversity and inclusion workshops for colleges, government and private/nonprofit organizations as part of a cross-racial team.
