 The Disability Awareness Task Force (DATF) invites you to Dinner and a Movie!

Special Guest Presentation:  Phillip Holscher will perform a 10-minute prose based on his character, Perry L. “Lucky” Crandall, which ponders the question of IQ versus success in life.  

Movie #1:  “Working Like Crazy” (1999) 54 minutes - CC.  This movie takes a unique and compelling look at the daily struggles and victories of psychiatric survivors working in survivor-run businesses.  Although labeled as crazy and unemployable, they have refused to accept these barriers and have created a safe place in a community of their peers – a place where they can earn an income and begin to rebuild their lives.  

Movie #2:  “Able to Laugh” (1993) 27 minutes - CC.  Many people are not quite sure how to interact with the disabled, and this movie presents several performances by the Access to Comedy Players who approach the subject with a light touch.
