Supervisor Development Certificate Program 2019: Session VI: Leadership in the Workplace

This program is designed for the new supervisor, one who has received limited supervisor training, or one who needs to strengthen his or her leadership skills.  Effective supervisors must possess many different qualities such as flexibility, adaptability, strong leadership skills, and commitment to goals.  Supervisors are often seen as teachers, counselors and mentors. Through the Supervisor Development Program at the St. Cloud Area Chamber, we offer you seven courses in seven distinct areas that will give you the necessary tools to become a more effective supervisor.  In order to receive the Supervisor Development certificate, you are required to attend at least six of the seven courses offered.  Five of the courses offered are required, enabling you to choose between two elective courses to complete the series.  Both electives can be selected at an additional cost of $65.

Session I: Keeping You and Your Employer Out of Trouble, Speaker: Melinda Gau, Quinlivan & Hughes - Tuesday, February 5, 7:45 a.m. - noon

Session II: Hiring for Retention, Speaker; Sunny Hesse, Metro Bus - Thursday, February 21, 8-10:30 a.m. 
Session III: Helping Employees Achieve Peak Performance, Speaker: Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce - Tuesday, March 5, 8-10:30 a.m.
Session IV: Supervising Others - A Team Approach, Speaker: Brian Hart, Stokeswood Enterprises - Wednesday, March 20, 8-11:00 a.m.

Session V: Conflict Management, Speaker: Bruce Miles, Big River Group, LLC - Wednesday, April 3, 8-11:15 a.m.

Two Electives - 1 elective is required and included in the registration fee. You may choose to do both electives for $65. 
Session VI: Leadership in the Workplace, Speakers: Donelle Hintermeister, Signature Training Solutions, & Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce - Tuesday, February 26, 8 a.m. - noon.  
Session VII: Interpersonal Communication Skills for Managers, Speaker: Robin Robatcek, St. Cloud Area School District #742 - Wednesday, April 17, 8:00 a.m.-noon
