Supervisor Development Certificate Program 2016

This program is designed for the new supervisor, one who has received limited supervisor training, or one who needs to strengthen his or her leadership skills.  Effective supervisors must possess many different qualities such as flexibility, adaptability, strong leadership skills, and commitment to goals.  Supervisors are often seen as teachers, counselors and mentors.  Through the Supervisor Development Program at the St. Cloud Area Chamber, we offer you seven courses in seven distinct areas that will give you the necessary tools to become a more effective supervisor.  In order to receive the Supervisor Development certificate, you are required to attend at least six of the seven courses offered.  Five of the courses offered are required, enabling you to choose between two elective courses to complete the series.  Both electives can be selected at an additional cost of $65.

Session 1: Employment Law - Keeping You and Your Employer Out of Trouble, Speakers: Melinda Sanders & Julie Fisk, Quinlivan & Hughes - Thursday, January 28, 2016, 7:45 a.m. - noon.

Session II: Conflict Management, Speaker: Bruce Miles, Big River Group - Tuesday, February 2, 8 - 11 a.m.

Session III: Supervising Others - A Team Approach, Speaker: Brian Hart, Sandler Training - Thursday, February 18, 8 - 11 a.m.

Session IV: Helping Employees Achieve Peak Performance, Speaker: Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce - Tuesday, February 23, 8 - 10:30 a.m.

Session V: Hiring for Retention, Speaker: Lynn Holmvig, GNP Company - Tuesday, March 1, 8 - 10:30 a.m. 

Two Electives -
Session VI: Leadership in the Workplace, Speakers: Donelle Hintermeister, Automotive Parts Headquarters, & Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce - Thursday, March 3, 8 a.m. - noon.  
Session VII: Interpersonal Communication Skills for Managers, Speaker: Robin Robatcek - Thursday, March 31, 8 a.m. - noon.
