Sauk Rapids Citizen of the Year 04-25-13

The Sauk Rapids Rapids Citizen of the Year Committee, in conjunction with the Sauk Rapids Chamber, announces that Kirsten Stiegel is the 2013 Sauk Rapids Citizen of the Year!  She will be honored at a luncheon on April 25.

Stiegel is thoroughly integrated into the Sauk Rapids community.  She volunteers on many committees with a particular focus on youth and schools.  Her list of community activities is long and includes co-chair of the Levy for Learning committee for the Sauk Rapids-Rice Schools; Sunday School teacher, confirmation guide, and Vacation Bible School coordinator at Living Waters Lutheran Church; Girl Scout troop and camp leader; Pine View Elementary School volunteer; Bam Bam Youth Ball coordinator; and member of the City of Sauk Rapids Recreation Board.

New this year is the addition of a student recognition at the luncheon.  Each year the Citizen of the Year program presents a scholarship to Sauk Rapids-Rice High School seniors.  This year two students will each receive a $500 scholarship based on their volunteerism, leadership, and involvement in Sauk Rapids community events.
