CANCELLED - Supervisor Development Certificate Program 2020 - Session 7: Interpersonal Communication Skills for Managers

Due to the Minnesota Governor's statements, made March 13, 2020, regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), this class will be rescheduled (hoping to schedule it in May/June 2020.)

Stated instructions included:

• Events of 250+ people are to be cancelled.
• Events of less than 250 people may still be held, IF they are in a space large enough to allow 6 feet distance between attendees.

This program is designed for the new supervisor, one who has received limited supervisor training, or one who needs to strengthen his or her leadership skills.  Effective supervisors must possess many different qualities such as flexibility, adaptability, strong leadership skills, and commitment to goals.  Supervisors are often seen as teachers, counselors and mentors. Through the Supervisor Development Program at the St. Cloud Area Chamber, we offer you seven courses in seven distinct areas that will give you the necessary tools to become a more effective supervisor.  In order to receive the Supervisor Development certificate, you are required to attend at least six of the seven courses offered.  Five of the courses offered are required, enabling you to choose between two elective courses to complete the series.  Both electives can be selected at an additional cost of $65.

Session I: Keeping You and Your Employer Out of Trouble, Speakers: Melinda Gau and Chad Staul, Quinlivan & Hughes - Wednesday, January 29, 7:45 a.m. - noon

Session II: Hiring for Retention, Speakers: Sunny Hesse and Julie Hentges, Metro Bus - Thursday, February 13, 8-10:30 a.m. 

Session III: Helping Employees Achieve Peak Performance, Speaker: Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce - Tuesday, February 25, 8-10:30 a.m.

Session IV: Supervising Others - A Team Approach, Speaker: Brian Hart, Stokeswood Enterprises - Tuesday, March 24, 8-11:00 a.m.

Session V: Conflict Management, Speaker: Bruce Miles, Big River Group, LLC - Thursday, April 16, 8-11:15 a.m.

Two Electives - ONE of the following electives, of your choosing, is required and included in the registration fee. You may choose to also do the second elective for an additional $65. 

Session VI: Leadership in the Workplace, Speaker: Gail Ivers, St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce - Tuesday, March 3, 8 a.m. - noon.  

Session VII: Interpersonal Communication Skills for Managers, Speaker: Robin Robatcek, St. Cloud Area School District #742 - Tuesday, March 31, 8:00 a.m.-noon
