Business Resource Roundtable: Understanding LegalCORPS and Its Business Resources

Join us for the Chamber’s September Business Resource Roundtable featuring LegalCORPS, Minnesota’s only statewide nonprofit business-law legal aid organization. 

Our Resource Experts will be Francisco Martinez, Staff Attorney, and Mamoun Alassouli, Communications and Development Manager. They will introduce the legal services and educational resources available through LegalCORPS and help participants understand where to turn when legal questions arise.

LegalCORPS connects eligible entrepreneurs, small businesses, inventors, and nonprofit organizations with free or low-cost assistance for non-litigation business matters. Services may include educational workshops, brief legal advice, and limited-scope representation from volunteer attorneys. LegalCORPS can assist with matters such as business formation, contracts, commercial leases, employment practices, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and other legal issues that affect an organization’s success.
What can you expect?

• Learn what legal resources are available: Discover LegalCORPS programs and how your business or nonprofit may qualify for assistance.
• Understand common legal risks: Learn about issues that can create challenges for businesses and steps you can take to help prevent them.
• Get guidance on business-law questions: Bring your questions about contracts, business formation, employment practices, compliance, leases, intellectual property, or other non-litigation matters.
• Learn about Minnesota Paid Leave support: Hear about no-cost educational workshops and limited-scope legal assistance offered through a program supported by DEED.
• Connect with the right assistance: Learn when you may benefit from speaking with an attorney and how LegalCORPS can help connect eligible organizations with legal support.
