About the Conference
The Winter Institute is an annual celebration of economic education. It is a signature event for the Center for Economic Education, the Economics Department and the School of Public Affairs.
It offers high-quality educational programming that draws attendance from a wide and diverse audience that includes: students, faculty, staff, business leaders and members of the community.
Speakers are influential economists and regional business leaders. Among the past speakers are former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke and Nobel Prize laureates such as James Heckman and the late Milton Friedman.
The Winter Institute offers:
- High-quality educational programming featuring renowned speakers and stimulating ideas.
- Accessible economic education sessions for a general audience as well as targeted economic education sessions for K-12 educators.
- National, state and regional economic forecasts interpreted for a community and business audience.
