AdFed seeking nonprofit applications: On April 11, the Advertising Federation of Central MN is hosting the 12-Hour Student Design Challenge where students from across MN design solutions for an area non-profit. Non-profits interested in participating can apply here.

Reminder: the referrendum is coming. On April 8, 2025, St. Cloud Area School District 742 will ask voters to decide on two questions to improve school safety, prepare students for future-ready learning and our community’s workforce, and create a multipurpose indoor athletic space. Labor force and jobs gains: Minnesota employers added 9,600 jobs in January, the largest monthly gain since March 2024, and the labor force grew by 4,800 people, according to data released today by DEED. Read more

 

Interest rates stay the same: The Internal Revenue Service announced interest rates will remain the same for the calendar quarter beginning April 1, 2025. For individuals, the rate for overpayments and underpayments will be 7% per year, compounded daily. Learn more

 

MN Paid Leave Newsletter: Minnesota will be the 13th state to launch a statewide Paid Leave program. Stay up to date on its implementation with this newsletter.

 

Unemployment insurance, explained. The Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank is hosting an event exploring the role of unemployment insurance in the labor market on April 9th. Register now.
