St. Cloud Area Quarterly Business Report: Every three months, two St. Cloud State University economists analyze the latest business and worker data, as well as the results from a survey of local business leaders. The result is the St. Cloud Area Quarterly Business Report.

 

The Minnesota Department of Education has released 2023 graduation data. 

Statewide, more than 58,200 students graduated in 2023, a 0.3 percentage point decrease from 2022. See how local school districts did.

 

SCSU Interim President finalists named. Minnesota State has named two finalists in the search for the interim president of St. Cloud State University. The candidates are Larry Dietz and Henry Morris. Learn more

Loan deadline approaching: The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding private nonprofit organizations in Minnesota of the April 19 filing deadline to apply for federal economic injury disaster loans for losses due to severe storms and flooding that occurred April 11- 30, 2023. Learn more

 

New information available on PFAS in products. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has published new information concerning per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in products. Learn more about disposal of PFAS products, and PFAS prohibitions.

 

Five cannabis law changes being considered. Minnesota legislators are considering several changes to the state's cannabis laws ahead of the anticipated 2025 launch of the recreational marijuana market.The changes range from limiting the number of retail dispensaries in the state to allowing medical cannabis patients to grow twice as many marijuana plants as other adults.
