FUNCTION

The Marketing Associate will help plan and implement marketing strategies for the Paramount Center for the Arts. The role includes promoting an annual schedule of performances, visual arts classes and outreach activities; overseeing the graphic design schedule and assisting with general organizational marketing. The Marketing Associate will have the opportunity to work in a community-focused arts venue with a thriving historic theatre (celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021), expansive visual arts department, and connection to artists throughout the region.

This is a non-exempt, half-time position (20 hours per week), Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend hours. Employee to work in the office between the hours of 9am-5pm. Pay scale: $16-20/hour, depending on experience. 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 
1. Help create and execute the annual marketing plan and budget. Track expenses and work with department leaders on budget changes.
2. Research market and promotional strategies for effectiveness leading to organizational growth.
3. Ensure that all marketing materials are accurate, complete and submitted on time.
4. Assist in proofreading organizational materials, both print and online.
5. Oversee and manage the design schedule.
6. Track marketing projects and follow up with staff members to secure needed materials.
7. Coordinate with department leaders to assess marketing needs on a monthly basis.
8. Serve as liaison between the organization and media outlets for reservations, updates, placement and approval of marketing assets.
9. Manage social media content schedule and work with Graphic Designer to provide graphics, videos and other pertinent information for posts and ads.
10. Ensure website is up to date and use Google Analytics to recommend modifications.
11. Coordinate with Box Office on ticket discounts, special offers and trade needs as requested by department leaders.
12. Gather and analyze patron demographic and behavior data (e.g. web traffic and rankings).
13. Forecast trends and assess customer satisfaction.
14. Serve as representative of the Paramount and its programs at events throughout Central MN as needed.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The Marketing Associate reports to the Executive Director but will work closely with the Director of Performing Arts and Manager of Visual Arts.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Marketing Associate is responsible for understanding and following the marketing budget closely. They are responsible for comparing pricing from various vendors and media outlets and will look for the most costeffective options to stay within annual budget.

CONTACTS
The Marketing Associate works with a number of staff members including the Director of Performing Arts, Manager of Visual Arts, Box Office Coordinator and Graphic Designer. In addition, they will work with outside vendors such as advertising contacts, print vendors and other businesses the organization may partner with.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or relevant field plus 3-5 years of related marketing experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Proven work experience as a marketing associate, marketing assistant or similar role
• Knowledge of marketing digital tools and techniques
• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, web analytics and social media
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills with a goal-oriented attitude

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The Marketing Associate is required to regularly talk to and hear colleagues and vendors in person, online and over the phone. The employee must be able to use a computer with keyboard and standard computer monitor. The employee may be required to lift 10-15 pounds and/or large printed materials. The employee may be required to drive short distances to pick up or drop off marketing materials.

The mission of the Paramount Center for the Arts, located in downtown St. Cloud, MN, is to provide opportunities for artistic production, creative exploration, arts education and the enjoyment of arts and entertainment throughout Central Minnesota and beyond. The Paramount Center for the Arts includes an 800- seat historic theatre – celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021 – plus over 8500 square feet of visual arts studios, community outreach programs and three gallery spaces.
