Job Description
The Department of Culinary Service and Events and Catering at the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for the full-time (85%), benefit-eligible position of Catering Lead Banquet Server. This position serves as a member of the Events and Catering team providing implementation of assigned catered and special events while maintaining high level standards providing guests with efficient and attentive service.

The College of Saint Benedict (CSB) is a liberal arts college for women located in the central lakes area of Minnesota. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for organizing the daily delivery, set-up, service and clean-up of catered events.
  • Ensure standards for safety, sanitation, quality, presentation and service are maintained at all times.
  • Direct, monitor, and assist catering student employees and on call staff.
  • Committed to delivering high quality customer service in an efficient manner, while being sensitive to the service needs of the entire college community.
  • Take on the role of manager/supervisor in their absence or as delegated.
  • In accordance to the catering standards, monitor food preparation and methods, size of portions, and garnishing and presentation of food.
  • Design and execute creative displays for catering and beverage buffets.
  • In accordance to the catering standards, monitor food preparation and methods, size of portions, and garnishing and presentation of food.
  • Order catering goods and beverages as delegated by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Food Service, Catering, Banquet Server or Bartender experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.  Schedule will adjust based on event need.
  • Supervisory, organizational, communication and customer relations skills are essential to this position.
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations. 
  • Obtain after hire (within 3 months), ServSafe food handler's certification liquor training.
  • Completion of College safety training programs including defensive driving within a one month timeframe of hire date.
