Job SummaryThe Communications and Workforce Development Coordinator is responsible for providing support for and implementing workforce development and communication programs for all departments in the Chamber, with supervision from the Vice President. Required skills: Ability to write in AP News style; detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines; design experience a plus.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Produces the Chamber’s newsletters Bottom Line, Chamber Edge, Membership Matters, and Chamber Quarterly
2. Seeks out, coordinates, and assists with workforce development programs such as the student internship program, and other programs that link businesses and educators, including volunteer recruitment, promotion and evaluation of programs.
3. Supports the vice president with development and coordination of marketing and communication materials for all Chamber events and programs.
4. Responsible for NEXT-Chamber’s Emerging Leaders group. Includes working with the volunteer chair and vice chair to recruit new members, schedule speakers and locations, develop promotional materials, etc.
5. Works with the Business Development Council to develop educational programs and trainings throughout the year.  Includes working with volunteer committees, confirming speakers and all program arrangements, developing brochures, promotion and other publicity, and attending the events.
6. Coordinates the Chamber’s Executive Dialogue program and Major Employers Forum
7. Responsible for planning and organizing the annual Volunteer Leadership Training/Orientation.
8. Assists with creation and writing of content for the Chamber’s web sites, magazine, and other communication vehicles.
9. Leads social media communications using multiple contemporary social media platforms for business. Expected to strictly adhere to the Chamber’s social media policy.
10. Assists with public relations activities, including radio programs and news releases, as assigned.
11. Assists in the preparation, printing and mailing of newsletters and other communication materials.
12. Responsible for event administration related to areas of responsibility, including invoicing and registration.
13. Attends group and committee meetings as needed.
14. Functions as Customer Service Representative to assigned Chamber members.
