The Director of Performing Arts (DPA) provides the overall artistic vision, direction, leadership and management in the area of performing arts within the Paramount Center for the Arts. Additionally, this position has a role in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and decisions and regularly collaborates with other department leaders in the areas of community engagement, development, finance and operations. The Director of Performing Arts oversees the PCA’s technical and box office personnel and is involved with overall organizational policy and procedures.
 
The Paramount Center for the Arts, located in downtown St. Cloud, MN, provides opportunities for artistic production, creative exploration, arts education and the enjoyment of arts and entertainment throughout Central Minnesota and beyond. The Paramount includes an 800-seat historic theatre – which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2021 – plus over 8500 square feet of visual arts studios, three gallery spaces and the Gallery Gift Shop, featuring the works of over 75 local artists. As one of the largest arts organizations in Central Minnesota, the Paramount offers around 50 different stage presentations and 150 art classes each year, with a focus on delivering engaging arts experiences and community programs that inspire creativity and connection.
 
This is a full-time exempt position (40 hours per week). Employee to work in the office, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9am – 5pm, with the option to work remotely up to 8 hours each week. Occasional nights and weekends required for some performances. Employee will be required to be on-site for some regular meetings. Benefits include paid vacation, starting at 10 days annually, 9 paid holidays, accruable personal time (PTO), free parking, option to join 401(k) retirement plan, and complimentary tickets/registration to select Paramount events.
