Business Service and HR Support
Position Summary: The Business Service & HR Support will report to the HR Manager & VP of Operations & Finance. The primary responsibility is to perform administrative duties for both the Business Service and Human Resource department.
Hours: Part-time to Full-time working Hours of Operation. Monday through Friday. Hours based on individual level.
Position Expectations (may include but not limited to):
- Accountable for providing GRAND CHAMPION Customer Service
- Assist Business Service as needed with; carrier, customer & broker records, collections, invoicing, going to post office.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Process Ready to Bill paperwork daily as needed
- Aid in keying in z16 loads for Logistics and post trucks on software program
- Keep training manuals & processes current and up to date
- Organize and prepare company handbooks
- Coordinate training and orientation paperwork for new team members
- Keep training duties and schedules updated when requested
- Create and maintain interview packets, orientation packets and insurance folders
- Data entry, filing, and printing important confidential documents
- Scan HR paperwork. Keep HR file up to date with team members current addresses.
- Prepare Wednesday Team Building meeting notes and send recap information
- Assist in maintaining work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
- Support HR in maintaining team member records as well as ensuring legal compliance of human resource federal and state requirements
- Assist HR as needed. May include but not limited to reviews, disciplinary actions, interviews, job postings. Make sure these are completed in a timely manner.
- Schedule quarterly meetings for HR to help team members obtain information and understand company benefits & incentive programs
- Handle team member time off requests
- Assist in calculating timecards and other payroll duties as directed
- Assist HR with health insurance, benefits, and wellness initiatives
- Cross check insurance statements for pricing accuracy
- Sign team members up for classes and attend company meetings & education classes and seminars as directed.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate door codes and team member building access
- Backup for posting benefit or human resource related topic on company and team Facebook pages weekly
- Help organize, prepare, and send off tax information end of year and/or during tax season
- Assist in running daily/weekly reports when requested by HR manager
- Attend weekly company meetings & educational classes & seminars as directed
- Assist Owners, managers & team members as directed

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*College degree or 2-4 years’ work experience, sales training helpful
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
*Above average communication skills
*An understanding of the transportation/logistics industry, or desire to learn
*Self-motivated & innovative – able to work with little supervision
*Able to multitask and prioritize task at hand
*Excellent Customer Service, phone skills, & data entry – computer skills
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a smile on your face!
