DESCRIPTION:MEETING DETAILS \n\nPlease note the time and location for this meeting\n\nRegistration is required as seating is limited.\n\n\n\nSpeaker: Beth Richardson\, Consul General of Canada to the United States\n\n\n\n\n\nThe St. Cloud Area Chamber's Government Affairs Division is honored to welcome Beth Richardson\, Consul General of Canada to the United States. This is a significant opportunity for our Chamber and community to learn more about the Consul General's role\, the Canadian economy as it relates to Minnesota\, and key issues such as trade and tariffs. Ms. Richardson is committed to working with business\, government\, and civic leaders to advance economic growth\, strengthen security at and beyond our shared border\, and foster resilient partnerships between Minnesota and Canada.\n\nAppointed Consul General in Minneapolis in August 2023\, Ms. Richardson leads a team of 17 Consulate staff in their work to:\n\n	Strengthen trade and economic ties\n	Reinforce security alliances\n	Enhance political\, academic\, and cultural connections\n	Assist Canadians visiting or living in Minnesota\, Iowa\, Nebraska\, North Dakota\, and South Dakota\n\nMs. Richardson began her career with Global Affairs Canada in 1996 and has served in roles with the Eastern Europe and Eurasia Division\, the Afghanistan Task Force\, and the Canadian International Development Agency. Her international assignments have included postings in Seoul\, London\, Moscow\, Miami\, and Vilnius\, Lithuania.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\nThe Government Affairs Division of the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce is comprised of business people and volunteers who have a passion for issues and activities at all levels of government.  Locally\, statewide\, and nationally\, they serve as advocates for all Chamber members.  Join us at our regular meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. Topics are different each month.  Any Chamber member with interest in government is welcome to attend.
