ELECTIONS 2022

As you know, the 2022 elections are coming up on November 8th. The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce is here as a resource and a connection to all of the candidates and the issues that will be presented on your ballot. In the next few Bottom Line emails, we will highlight some of the special questions that may appear on your ballot on November 8th. We do not take a stance on any of these special questions, we are here to inform so that you can make the best decision for you, your company, and your family.

St. Cloud City Question 1

Saint Cloud will have a question on the ballot on November 8th regarding a proposed ½ percent local option sales tax. It would be for a five-year period to fund up to $21,100,000 of improvements and renovations to the Municipal Athletic Complex (MAC).

  • The MAC has been bringing in youth athletic tournaments and sports entertainment since 1971. Upgrades would ensure this versatile complex continues to serve future generations.
  • These upgrades would benefit the six local high schools and many club teams that use the MAC for hockey, baseball, and figure skating, help continue to grow the economy through tourism, extend the baseball season with artificial turf and make improvements to the accessibility and sustainability of the building.
